<P class=MsoNormal>This summer, Porthouse Theatre has partnered with Wigs For Kids in conjunction with Porthouse’s production of <I>Steel Magnolias.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN></I>Wigs For Kids is a non-profit organization that provides custom-made hair replacements systems for children whom have lost their hair due to illness or burns.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>These wigs are often made from hair donated by generous individuals in the community.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>In order to donate your hair it must be 10 – 12 inches long and cannot be dyed or permed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Porthouse was lucky enough to find 10 women who met these criteria and were generous enough to donate their hair. Opening night Sisters Erin and Sarah Moore donated their cut ponytails along with Ruth Kline whom donated her mother’s hair, her hair, and her daughter’s hair.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Porthouse Sound Designer, Annalise Albright had her hair cut onstage and then styled during the show.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>During the post-show reception an anonymous donor presented Terri Kent, Artistic Director, with her already cut hair.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>On Sunday, Kelly Patterson, donated her two feet of cut hair.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>To end of the run of this stirring production five more women will be donating their hair to Wigs For Kids.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Community members Kathy McGlone, Angel Racine, and Annie Oxenhurt will all be donating their already cut hair to Wigs For Kids on July 21 before the final curtain of <I>Steel Magnolias.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN></I>Porthouse Company Member, Rebecca Borger will also be donating her hair and <I>Steel Magnolias’ </I>cast member Catherine Albers (Clairee) will be donating her daughter’s hair to this wonderful cause.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>These final donations will have provided Wigs For Kids with 13 ponytails.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Normally it takes 10 – 12 ponytails to make one wig.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Porthouse is proud that we have been able to donate a wig’s worth of hair along with almost $1,000 to Wigs For Kids.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Presentation of the final hair donations will take place on the set of <I>Steel Magnolias, </I>July 21 at approximately 7:45 PM.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>Curtain for the show is 8:00 PM.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>For more information please contact Elisabeth Madden at 330-672-0107 or <A href="mailto:ElisabethMadden at msn.com">ElisabethMadden at msn.com</A></P></DIV><br clear=all><hr>Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at <a href="http://explorer.msn.com">http://explorer.msn.com</a><br></p></html>
