Yentl Auditions

The Eugene S. and Blanche R. Halle Theatre will be holding open auditions
for a production of Yentl, written by Leah Napolin and Isaac Bashevis
Singer, directed by David Bamberger.  The auditions will be held on Sunday,
August 26, Monday, August 27 and Tuesday, August 28 from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00
p.m. at the Halle Theatre in the Mayfield JCC, 3505 Mayfield Road, Cleveland
Heights.  Callbacks will be on Wednesday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script.  Roles are available
for 10 men ages 21 - 60 and 10 women ages 18 - 60.  Production dates will be
January 19 - February 3, 2002.  All positions are paid.  Call (216)
382-4000, Ext. 274 for an audition appointment and information.

Show description:  In the Eastern European world of 1873, options for young
women were few.  Yentl's courage in defying her time and following her
dreams of studying torah is the heart of this moving and beautiful play.
The constrictions of shtetl life are no match for Yentl's determination
during her quest to join Jewish tradition and find true love.
