The August 18th house of Ugo Betti's THE QUEEN AND THE REBELS at Kennedy's
Down Under, Playhouse Square Center, has been sold. Tickets are available at
the box office for Friday, August 17th, Friday, August 24th and Saturday,
August 25th or by Tickets.com at (216) 241-6000. Tony Brown describes the
play this way: "True nobility rests not with those who are titled earls,
baronesses, dukes or even kings and queens. It belongs solely to those
uncommon folk who can spit tyranny in the eye even if it costs their lives to
do so." He goes on to say "Sheila E. Maloney as the courtesan/queen rewards
the audience with a jackpot of a payoff, tears moistening her broad,
plaintive face as she makes her final wrenching decision." Don't miss this
seldom produced "masterpiece by one of Italy's most important 20th-century
playwrights."
