The Repertory Project
Presents

Rough Cuts
Free previews of dance works under construction

The Repertory Project invites you to see the process of staging dances in
the first of a series called Rough Cuts. Throughout the 2001-2002 season,
company members and guest artists will provide rare glimpses of dance works
under construction. These events will be open to the public at no charge.

The first of these events will be co-sponsored and hosted by Mather Dance
Center at Case Western Reserve University on August 24 at 8 p.m., and will
feature guest choreographer Terry Creach and his work Rough House. The work
will not premiere formally until the spring of 2002, but audiences are
invited to see it danced by The Repertory Project in its beginning stages
after the first week of rehearsals.

The dancing will be followed by a dialogue between the attendees, Repertory
Project dancers, Artistic Director, Susan Miller and Mr. Creach. This is an
opportunity for the audience to see what goes on long before a dance work
makes its debut and to discuss the work directly with the choreographer.

Later series events will include improvisation sessions where viewers will
learn about the very first steps and further processes of dance making.
Attendees will have a chance to collaborate in the choreographic process and
see the results of their experiments.

Mr. Creach will teach Master Classes in Modern Dance Technique Monday-Friday
mornings, August 20-24 at Cleveland City Dance, and Saturday morning, August
25 at Mather Dance Center. All classes will begin at 9 a.m. Class fees are
$10/class. Discounts are available for multiple classes.

For information or to register for classes, please call The Repertory
Project at 216.397.3757.

If you would like to be removed from this list, please send an e-mail to
info at repertoryproject.org with the word "Remove" in the subject line.
