DOBAMA THEATRE PRESENTS
FALL EDUCATIONAL CLASSES
Dobama Theatre, 1846 Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, will offer the
following classes in the theatre arts October 1 through November 4
(please make special note of times and locations):
INTRO TO PUPPET SENSIBILITY
Ages 13 to Adult
Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to Noon at Dobama Theatre beginning Oct. 6
Explore a range of puppet styles, including hand, rod, shadow, marionette,
bun-raku, mask, found object and experimental forms. This course is designed
to appeal to multi-disciplinary interests - a forum for artists, sculptors,
performers, designers or craftspersons to intersect or collaborate.
PLAYMAKING
Grades 3 to 5
Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights
Library beginning Oct. 3
Explore your imagination on the live stage! Create characters and images,
write dialogue, shape a story and usher and audience into your world.
ACTING PROCESS
Grades 10-12+
Mondays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at Dobama Theatre beginning Oct. 1
In a workshop environment, explore a range of physical, vocal, emotional and
sensorial. Build a foundation of self-awareness and self-confidence from
which characterizations and style can grow.
ACTING: PLAY AND WORK
Grades 6 - 9
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Society on
Lancashire Road in Cleveland Heights beginning Oct. 2
Serious acting is fun! Experience the freedom and challenges of combining
improvisation with disciplined actor training. Learn and grow in the art of
performing as well as the art of living.
8-WEEK COURSE FEES: $90 for one course, $170 for two courses, $225 for three
courses, $280 for all four courses.
