birth - uses crutches

Mr. Gamble: Unlike the other three, Mr. Gamble has the disability of =
being an obese person in a=20

society that values thinness

Tony: Newly disabled, BITTER AND ANGRY! - uses a wheelchair (Mike and =
Tony are portrayed

by one actor in this original production.

The scenario for this play is a place where both abled and disabled =
persons gather. The disabled are a=20

small part of the group (as they are in any group) and they are treated =
no differently here than any other=20

place-that is to say, not well. But there is a core group of these =
disabled who determine to try and make=20

a difference. They believe in varying degrees, if they write and present =
a very candid program that opens=20

the issues of who are the disabled and how others should respond to =
them, they can change things.=20

"What's the Difference?" looks in on them as they plan for the program. =
There are scenes in the play=20

when each of the characters steps out and speaks directly to the =
audience. The play is open-ended,=20

Staging is minimalist, using only a table (provided by the company) and =
