The Repertory Project's Compay Classes - Session 2

The Repertory Project’s modern dance classes will resume January 7, 2002,
and run through May 17, 2002.   Classes are $10 per class, with discount
class cards available.  All classes are held at Cleveland City Dance, 13947
Cedar Road in South Euclid, from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. unless otherwise
indicated.  Company Classes will be taught by company members Erica
Eufinger, Jenita McGowan, and Gayla Marie Lindawan, with master classes
taught by special guest choreographers Terry Creach, José Luis Bustamante,
and Molly Shanahan. Call 216.397.3757, or send e-mail to

Mr. Creach is the Artistic Director of Creach/Company in New York, and is on
the faculty at Bennington College.

Master Class with José Luis Bustamante
Monday, February 25th
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m

Mr. Bustamante is the Artistic Co-Director of Sharir + Bustamante
Danceworks, and an Associate Professor/Dance Program Coordinator at Austin
Community College.

Master Class with Molly Shanahan
Wednesday, March 20th
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m

Ms. Shanahan is the Artistic Director of the Mad Shak Dance Company in
Chicago.

Bios

Erica Eufinger received a BFA in Dance from the University of Utah.  She
spent two years as a member of the department's Performing Dance Company
where she was able to perform choreographic works by both faculty and guest
artists including Jo Parkes and Steve Koester.  Erica has studied at the
Limon School in New York City, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Bates Dance
Festival, and she been an intern for the Joffrey Ballet's satellite school
in Michigan.  She has worked with Mary Cochran, Julie Kane, Judith Jamison,
Nancy Stark Smith, and Kevin Wynn.  Erica joined The Repertory Project in
1999.

Jenita McGowan, originally from Columbus, Ohio, earned a BFA in Dance and a
BS in Journalism from Kent State University. She has written several
articles for various professional publications in Ohio. At KSU, she received
academic scholarships and awards for her performance and choreography, and
she was also the 2000-2001 student director of the Kent Dance Ensemble. As a
member of the ensemble, Jenita worked with choreographers Mark Taylor,
Sabatino Verlezza and Jim Lepore.

Gayla Marie Lindawan joined The Repertory Project in August of 1999.  She is
a certified Core Dynamics-Mat(r) work of J. H. Pilates(tm) - instructor,
completing her Dance Medicine Internship with Body Technic Systems in 2000.
Gayla received a BFA in Dance from Ohio University, where she received
numerous awards such as the Gladys Bailin Distinguished Professor
Scholarship, the College of Fine Arts Outstanding Achievement Award and the
Dean's Scholarship.  In addition to her scholastic accomplishments, Gayla
was awarded scholarships to study at Bates Dance Festival and the Colorado
Dance Festival.

Terry Creach
Artistic Director, Creach/Company
Faculty, Bennington College

An opportunity to explore in an in depth way relationships and their
physicality involving weight, strength, timing and momentum.  Collaborative
investigations and partnering explorations are at the ore of the
choreographic process.  The result is work, which is intimate as well as
athletic and energetic.

José Luis Bustamante
Artistic Co-Director of Sharir + Bustamante Danceworks
Associate Professor/Dance Program coordinator at Austin Community College

In 1986, José was one of 5 finalists in the Dance Umbrella Workouts
choreography competition, and his piece Roks was selected as a finalist at
the American College Dance Festival. He was a national finalist for the
Dewar's Profile Performance Arts Awards for choreography and performed his
work Sedition, Seduction in the competition finals in New York in October
1991. In 1993, he received a New Forms Regional Initiative Grant with
performance artist Sally Jacques, and Choreographer Fellowships from the
National Endowment for the Arts in 1993, 1994 & 1995. His work was selected
for the 1996 Suzanne Dellal International Dance Competition in Tel Aviv,
Israel, the 1997 International Computer Music Festival in Greece, and ACARTE
1997 in Lisbon, Portugal. Ballet Austin and The Repertory Project have
commissioned his work, and he has choreographed for Sunny Cigarroa's Impulso
Ballet Company.

Molly Shanahan
Artistic Director,  Mad Shak Dance Company

Molly graduated from Denison University with BAs Dance and English and from
The Ohio State University with an MA in Choreography. Shanahan's
choreography has been commissioned by The Repertory Project, State
University of New York at Potsdam, Northwestern University, and The Dance
Center-Columbia College Chicago. Currently, Shanahan is on the part-time
faculty at Columbia College and the Gus Giordano Dance Center.
