CLEVELAND METROPARKS ZOO
PART-TIME INTERPRETER - EXHIBITS

The Zoo Interpreter/Exhibits is a theatrical performer and wildlife
conservation educator, performing character-driven narratives using
acting/musical talents for rotating programs throughout the Zoo.  Engages
visitors in interactive learning and discovery.  Utilizes outstanding
communication skills to entertain and educate individuals, groups and
organizations of all ages about conservation, preservation and management of
wildlife.  May assist with the development and implementation of characters
for Australian Adventure, the African Savannah, Wolf Lodge and RainForest.
Assist with education animal care, implementation of other education
programs, and answering correspondence and providing informational services
as assigned.  Other duties may include prop building/procurement and
costuming of characters.

QUALIFICATIONS:
!	Currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited college or university
with preferred coursework in education, theater, natural science or related
field.
!	Demonstrated knowledge of natural science, conservation and wildlife.
!	Willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays as assigned.
!	Demonstrated outgoing and engaging interpersonal skills.
!	Patience and willingness to work with children.
!	Demonstrated initiative with a positive and co-operative attitude.
!	Current valid Ohio drivers license.



SALARY:	$10.47 per hour
