CPT is  proud to announce the Cleveland premiere of Hedwig And The Angry
Inch will be extended to January 12, 2002! Now one of Cleveland Public
Theatre’s most successful box office hits, Hedwig and The Angry Inch has
played to full houses and strong advanced sales throughout its four-week
run.

Bad News/Good News

The extension announcement comes after canceling two shows on Saturday,
December 22 due to an illness suffered by Dan Folino who plays Hedwig.
Medical personnel reported that Folino suffered from an attack of vertigo,
but after a few days rest Dan is fully recovered and ready to rock the next
three weeks.  Patrons holding tickets were assisted in re-scheduling new
dates for the following three weekends that evening.  Please call

re-schedule.

Be A Part of the Action

Hedwig needs more volunteer waitstaff to provide a little cabaret table
service prior to the performances. No experience is necessary, just the
ability to have a lot of fun as part of the production and the desire to see
a kick ass show for free. Make great tips, actors get experience serving and

Great Story!
Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of transsexual rocker Hedwig
Schmidt, an East German immigrant who submits to a sex change operation in
an attempt to gain American citizenship. The operation is horribly botched
and Hedwig is left with a one inch strip of undefined genitalia. Living
alone and penniless in a trailer park in Kansas, Hedwig meets Tommy Speck
who she introduces to the world of music, eventually grooming him to become
a major rock star, Tommy Gnosis. Tommy’s fame rises and Hedwig is left alone
once again feeling rejected, spiteful and jealous. Hedwig regains notoriety
when she and Tommy fall victim to a terrible accident that puts them in the
headlines of every major tabloid. We now find Hedwig performing with her
band, The Angry Inch along with her second husband Yitzak across the river
from the venue where her former lover Tommy Gnosis is playing to a sell out
crowd.
