A full time Managing Director position is available in the School of
Theatre & Dance at Kent State University. This is a twelve-month,
non-tenure track, administrative appointment beginning July 1, 2002.
The Managing Director provides operational leadership for Porthouse
Theatre, a summer professional theatre company (three-month/three
production season) operated by Kent State University at Blossom Music
Center--summer home of The Cleveland Orchestra; and for the School of
Theatre & Dance, the academic-year production arena of Kent State
University (nine-month/eight-production season).  Responsibilities:
Grant writing, fundraising, management of budget, business management
including contracts and staff supervision, marketing and public
relations and development, participation in season planning and
scheduling, oversight of house management and physical plant.  Potential
instruction and/or supervision of practicum students in theatre
management.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:  Masters degree (or professional equivalent experience)
in Arts Management or related field. At least three years of
professional experience in Arts Management. Theatre experience required.
Computer literacy required in word processing, financial spreadsheets,
database management and desktop publishing. Collaborative and effective
interpersonal skills essential.  Deadline:  Letter of application,
