The Cleveland Film Society, Community Partnership for Arts and Culture, and
Greater Cleveland Media Development Corporation are collaborating to present
an interactive panel discussion about the role of arts and culture in our
region’s economic development.

The “Culture as Commerce” FilmForum will immediately follow the Cleveland
International Film Festival screening of "Downside UP", a documentary film
by Nancy Kelly.  The film chronicles the efforts made by residents in a
struggling manufacturing New England town who took a fresh approach to
economic development by embracing arts and culture to rejuvenate their
region’s economy.

Please join us to view this film and participate in the discussion.  The
event is scheduled as follows:
Date:		Friday, March 22, 2002
Time:		2:30 p.m.:	Screening of "Downside UP" and a short film, "Sing!"
		4:10 p.m.:	Interactive panel discussion about the intersection of arts and
economic development and 				the lessons that Cleveland might learn from
North Hampton. (scheduled to participate: 					Downside UP director Nancy
Kelly, Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman, AFL-CIO 					Executive
Secretary John Ryan, and others to be announced.)
Location:	Tower City Cinemas on The Avenue at Tower City Center

Tickets are $6.00 (Weekday Matinee price)
