 ' OUR SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY ' is a nostalgic 40's musical revue. Slated is
pre-post WWII music reminiscent of our national spirit: jazz/swing/blues
classic standards; love/torch ballads; movie/Broadway show tunes, & a
patriotic grand finale to thank/pay tribute to our Vets & Rosie Riveters
for preserving the freedoms we enjoy today. This was conceived &
submitted in Oct of 2000, a year before 911.

VOCALISTS NEEDED: 6-8 male & female proficient singers, ALL VOICE PARTS,
good range, minimum age 19 & over. One legit soprano (A flat above middle
C). 10 of the 50 numbers are SATB, some of those parts divided for choral
radio effect. Rest are solos, duets, some trio. Must learn quickly, well,
have a great ear for close harmony & counterpoint, & be willing to work
in esprit de corps style.
WHEN: Mon, May 6th & Tues, May 7th @ 7:00PM.
WHERE: North Canton Playhouse, Mc Manaway Studio (Hoover HS annex) 7th
Street NE, off Main
WHAT TO PREPARE: 32 bars in any combo from Big Band/Swing Era, 20's-40's,
including musical theater. No contemporary or 'a cappella' permitted.
Music should be marked in red for pianist & in key you plan to sing. Some
vocal styling encouraged. Accompanist provided. Tape/CD player also
available, if needed. Bring 1 pg. resume & calendar. Audition forms also
available @ NCP & from director to fill out ahead & bring to audition.
REHEARSALS: Sun, June 2 (nuts/bolts, "sight read" through); Sun-Thurs,
6:45-9:30PM; first 3 wks in director's home studio in Canton South; Tech
wk starts Sun, July 7th. Will attempt to make rehearsals as user friendly
as possible to maximize minimal time. Cooperation needed on all sides,
since we have about only 72 hrs of rehearsals.
PERFORMANCES: Opening Thurs, July 11-closing Sat, July 27. Th-F-Sat @
8:00 PM; Sun mat. @ 2:30 PM. Performance lasts about 1 &1/2 hrs +/-, w/
15 min intermission.
