<DIV>Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project travelled to Laramie, Wyoming in the weeks and months following Matthew Sheperd's brutal murder, conducting interviews with resident of the town and individuals involved in the criminal case that followed.  The play, a "docudrama", is constructed from portions of these interviews and other primary sources.</DIV>

<DIV>The play was recently made into a film currently in rotation on HBO. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Working for A Hate Free Society is a grass-roots effort to raise community awareness of hate crimes and what can be done to stop them.  These reading are a part of 2 weeks worth of programming in the greater Akron area that includes a lecture by Judy Sheperd (Matthew's mother) on April 25, 8pm at EJ Thomas Hall, and other events such as luncheons and educational forums.  </DIV>
