Group: Some of you may have heard about the Cleveland Arts and Culture
Summit, under the sponsorship of the Community Partnership for Arts and
Culture, Mayor Jane Campbell and Cleveland City Council, to be held on May
15th at Cleveland City Hall (Lakeside Avenue and East 6th Street). The
summit is to bring together arts groups across the range of disciplines and
draw attention to the importance of artists, arts and cultural organizations
as assets that produce extraordinary quality of life and place, strengthen
the regional economy and improve education at all levels.
The summit has an information gathering and public display component. Arts
organizations are encouraged to express their points of view on five points:
* increased public access to the arts;
* expanding resources for arts;
* education;
* opportunities for collaboration; and
* public awareness.

Afterwards, a public rally is planned outside Cleveland City Hall (by the
Claus Oldenburg 'Free Stamp' along E. 9th St.). Mayor Jane Campbell,
Cleveland City Council President Frank Jackson and leading council members
like arts advocate Joe Cimperman, are expected to speak. The event is free
and open to the public.

The summit is an important opportunity for the arts community to discuss
their role in public life and public policy debate.

ways in which you can use the website to promote your plays and
performances. The site has tremendous features and is easy to explore,
potentially providing notice to interested members of the public about your
