Hudson Players to Host Northeast Ohio Regional Theatre
Festival<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

June 6, 2002, Hudson, Ohio - The Hudson Players have been selected to host
the 2002 NorthEast Ohio regional theater festival for the Ohio Community
Theatre Association (OCTA). Also known as the NorthEast OCTAFest, the
two-day festival will be held Saturday June 15 and Sunday June 16, from 9:30
a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Barlow Community Center on Oviatt St. in Hudson. The
event is open to the public with tickets available at the door costing $15
for one day or $22 for both days. It showcases half hour excerpts from
thirteen area participating theaters, which select their own entry from
their current season.

"It's really some of the best theater from Hudson and the surrounding
areas," said Tim Steiner, Hudson Players group president. "Not only that,
but it's a great format to see the shows in. You get exposed to a lot of
theater in a short period of time. It's a great learning experience and a
good way to see a lot of interesting productions. We're really proud to be
hosting this prestigious and growing event yet again."

The format also provides for immediate feedback with three trained
responders offering constructive criticism and on the spot reviews
immediately following each excerpt. At the end of the day on Sunday, the
responders will also select a limited number of the excerpts to represent
the NorthEast region at the state festival to be held over labor day
weekend. Individual performance awards will also be presented.
