NATIVE AMERICAN ACTOR PORTRAYS CHIEF BROMDEN IN PORTHOUSE THEATRE=92S ONE FLEW 
OVER THE CUCKOO=92S NEST
Local Native American actor, Michael Greyeyes makes his Porthouse debut

ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST directed by Sue Ott Rowlands opens Friday, 
July 5th and runs through Saturday, July 20th at Porthouse Theatre.  This 
touching and amusing drama explores the magic and strength of the human 
spirit.  Randle McMurphy=92s journey through sanity and individuality inspires 
Chief Bromden to grow =93big enough=94 to face the outside world.  Local Native 
American actor, Michael Greyeyes will be playing the role of Chief Bromden.

Michael Greyeyes is a resident of Lakewood and is the only professional Native 
American actor in the state!  Michael is Cree, from the Muskeg Lake First 
Nation in Saskatchewan.  He is a member of Actors' Equity Association, 
Canadian Actors' Equity Association, the American Federation of Television and 
Radio Arts, and the Screen Actors' Guild. He has an extensive and current film 
and television career including: "Dance Me Outside", "Crazy Horse", "Skipped 
Parts", "Smoke Signals", "Zigzag", "Walker: Texas Ranger", "Millennium", 
"Magnificent Seven", "Geronimo", "Are You Afraid of the Dark", and "Stolen 
Women" to name a few.  Most recently he has just finished filming 
"Skinwalkers" for the PBS Mystery Theatre. The film was directed by Chris Eyre 
and based on the Tony Hillerman novel of the same name. This summer he will be 
seen in the new John Sayles film, "Sunshine State."

          Michael is also a professional dancer and choreographer. From 
1987-1990 Michael was a member of the National Ballet of Canada.

           Michael is currently enrolled in the RETURNING PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM 
at Kent State University's School of Theatre and Dance. (The Program is 
designed for artists who have had a substantial professional career and wish 
to return to school and complete an MFA degree. Recent graduates of our 
program include: Ken Howard; "The White Shadow" and currently the Father in 
"Crossing Jordan", Mark LaMura; Emmy Award winner for "All My Children", and 
Elizabeth LaMura; professional actress, dancer, and movement teacher. 
Currently enrolled in our Program are Broadway actors David Vosburgh and 
MaryAnn Black-----both of whom will be appearing in BRIGADOON!)

          Michael Greyeyes is an incredible spirit. He resides in Lakewood 
with his wife Nancy and new daughter Eva Rose. (Eva was born May 6, 2002 and 
that is a miraculous story in and of itself!)  If you need more information or

 Ticket prices range from $10 - $20 with discounts available for students and

Porthouse Theatre was founded in 1971 and is one of only a few summer theaters 
in the area.  Set on the beautiful grounds of the Blossom Music Center,
