Personal Review of Huntington Playhouse "Footloose"

I know that there are many productions of Footloose around North Eastern=20
Ohio, this summer.=A0On Saturday, I saw a lively, fast moving, production at=
=20
Huntington Playhouse in Bay Village.=A0 The cast was energetic, and talented=
.

Robert Catalano does a commendable, and believable performance as Rev. Shaw=20
Moore.=A0 Last I saw him a CVLT where he, also, played a man of the cloth.=20

His wife, Vi, played by Pat Caruso, puts out a terrific performance as the=20
somewhat sassy, but, caring, wife, and mother.=A0 Pat's voice, and solo are=20=
one=20
of the high points of Act II.=A0=20

A duet is done by Coleen Lanning (Ethel) and Pat Caruso (Vi), that is a=20
lament to women who are Learning to be Silent.=A0=20

There was Ren, played by William Skoviak.=A0 You could tell that he was ripe=
=20
for this role.=A0 He was fun to watch.=A0 I was particularly thrilled by his=
 rap=20
at the town council meeting.=A0 Dancing is Not a Crime!=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=20

Ariel is played by the beautiful, Nicole Cuglewski, and she has a nice, clea=
r=20
voice, and very good acting talent.=A0=A0Ariel's antics would cause any fath=
er to=20
worry.=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=20

Nicole's (Ariel's) friends are played by Marianna Majer, Jackie Petrucci, an=
d=20
Paige Miller Morand, who are, obviously having the time of their lives.=A0 T=
hey=20
all have good stage voices and Marianna as Rusty stands out as one of the=20
strongest in Let's Hear it for the Boy.=20

Andrew Marikis plays, Chuck, the bad ex-boyfriend.=A0 He is quite good at be=
ing=20
a bad-guy.=A0=20

I do not want to forget the performance from Christopher Luzniak as the=20
lovable friend, and great country bumpkin character, Willard.=A0 He sings a=20
number called Mama Says, and is right in step with his co-actors, Jacob=20
Shaffer, Michael Majer,=A0 and William Skoviak.=20

I enjoyed the performances and dancing done by Tom Kondilas, and Derick=20
Lindes.=A0 They were comic relief for the show.

Who can forget Betty Blast played by Kim Baker?=A0 What a great comic talent=
!

The music and choreography for this production are very fine.=A0 The dance=20
numbers were inventive.

Try to pay a visit to Huntington Playhouse, on, or before Aug. 4th, to view=20
these terrific performances.
