Hello,

In addition to this summers 20,000 Leagues Under The Industry Film Festival, 
held at The Beachland Ballroom August 16th thru the 18th my partner Marcel 
DeJure (from Los Angeles) will be bringing The Cinnamon Roll Gang, the 
puppet troupe he founded.

The CR gang will perform at the fest staurday the 17th as part of the 10pm 
program.

Marcel is looking for interested folks who want to perform in the CR gang. 
There will be full size puppets made from back pack frames and hand held 
puppets, he will have the dialogue pre recorded onto CD so there will be no 
lines to learn, Marcel will hold rehersals after he arrives in Cleveland 
august 6th. We may also stage a "parade" downtown with the puppets.

20,000 Leagues Under the Industry Film Festival Returns to Cleveland.

Now in its fourth year, 20,000 Leagues Under the Industry Film Festival 
returns to the Beachland Ballroom this August 16 through the 18th.

“20,000 Leagues Under the Industry is an underground film festival that 
shows films from any genre and format, all of which are Cleveland premieres. 
The goal is to give the audience a chance to see films they would not see 
otherwise,” says festival co-organizer Matthew T., who along with Los 
Angeles-based filmmaker Marcel DeJure, culls films from other festivals and 
through word of mouth. The emphasis is on filmmakers whose creativity is not 
defined by budget, commercial interests, or mainstream concerns.

Supplementing these screenings will be performances by rock bands Viva 
Caramel (Cleveland), The Perfect Guy (Cleveland), and The Centimeters (Los 
Angeles).  DeJure’s puppet troupe, The Cinnamon Roll Gang (featured in his 
film, And....), will also present a new work developed for the festival.

Although 20,000 Leagues Under the Industry is primarily a festival of short 
film, each year includes the Cleveland premiere of one feature-length film.  
This year’s selection is Justin Mitchell’s documentary, Songs For 
Cassavetes.

Shot in black-and-white 16mm film, Songs For Cassavetes documents 
underground bands making music in the wake of the "alternative" media 
explosion of the early nineties. Mitchell’s film includes performances and 
interviews with Sleater-Kinney, the Make-Up, Unwound, Dub Narcotic Sound 
System, and others.

Screenings for 20,000 Leagues Under The Industry are as follows:
