Where: Cabaret Dada 1210 W. 6th St - Warehouse District
When: Tuesday, August 27 8pm to Midnight

The Details:
Howdy los folks!!

Matty P here, in the midst of my preparations for leavin Cleveland
to go to Chicago. But since A)I can't resist a good time
and B) I want to leave something nice behind for my home state and its
theatrical life, I am very excited to announce that on Tuesday evening,
August 27, from 8 pm to midnight (and beyond?) at Cabaret Dada theatre on
West 6th in Cleveland's Warehouse District (thanks Chris & John), we gonna
have a GOING AWAY PARTY/BENEFIT FOR THE WALLPAPER PROJECT!!!

Finally, here's your chance to come down to West 6th with the pretty people
and get your shimmy on to a groove that's eclectic, smart and fun (like you),
not relentlessly oompce oompce oompce oompce. (or is it oontz oontz oontz?)
Remember, I've spent much time workin at a CD store, so the music will be ON.
Then we'll see about maybe givin everybody a free drink so their respective
grooves flow mo freely. Perhaps an open mic session too.

Regardless of the particulars, it'll be a good time before the start of Fall
seasons and semesters to hobknob, flirt, and say later to me.

As for the benefit, this is my chance to exploit my exit to support a theatre
project I love and believe in, that only DePaul University keeps me from
working on. Here's the skinny from Rachel Barber, Wallpaper CEO:

The Wallpaper Project has collaborated with forty communities to share the
stories of Ohio with the people of Ohio. Six to eight actors and a crew
will travel across the state from March through December, working in every
major metropolitan area and a cross-section of small and medium-sized towns
to present an original oral-history based production created by Cleveland
playwright Eric Coble and produced by the Human Race Theatre Company, Dayton.
This unprecedented project will reach a live audience of 80,000-100,000
people. The project is the recipient of an Extended Collaboration Grant from
the Theatre Communications Group and has been featured in The Oral History
Review.

***So basically, 40 different Ohio communitiies get a play that's about THEM,
and will feature stories from their long-time residents, and actors from the
community who may have never gotten a chance to act, and there'll be other
events at schols and nursing homes and stuff. Meanwhile, Wallpaper will
employ a bunch of actor, technicians, and directors doing worthy,
keep-it-real non-profit theatre that really means something and will connect
them directly and deeply with their audience. Fantastic!

So, hey, you can spare a few bucks to dance, mingle, and find out about a
great chunk of art that someday may employ you or your buddy. And thus, the
future being secured and made safe for noble art even in this "unstable
economy", we can dispense with any sad faces about me splittin town.

Peace and Be Well,
See ya on the 27th

Matthew
