FALL CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS AT
THE CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE
Eight Week Session Fall 2002
Saturdays from September 28 - November 16
Cost: $130 per class
Action Acting Ages: 6 - 8 Time: 9:30-11:30 AM
Instructor: Nya Stevens
This is where it all begins! The imagination class that unlocks creative
potential. Using a unique style of improvisation that combines elements of
theatre, music, writing and movement, students learn the building blocks of
acting.
Beginning Acting Ages 9-12 Time: 9:30-11:30AM
Instructor: Larry Nehring
A class that introduces students to the art of acting. Using monologues
and simple scenes, students work on improving their acting skills. This
class addresses diction, memorization and listening skills, all of which
are important to an acting student.
Introduction to Performance Ages: 8-12 Time: 11:45AM-1:45 PM
Instructor: Nya Stevens
This class offers our students an exploration into different aspects of
theater. This class includes movement, voice, diction, scene work and
performance. A great class for students who want to learn more about
acting and performance.
Introduction to Acting Teens Ages: 13-17 Time: 9:30-11:30AM
Instructor: Kat McIntosh
Learn basic acting skills through vocal and physical training, imagination
exercises and theatre games. This course will give you a fun and
entertaining look behind the scenes at the world of the actor.
Intermediate Acting Teens Ages: 13-17 Time: 11:45AM-1:45 PM
Instructor: Larry Nehring
If you've been in a play, or taken a couple of acting classes, but don't
know what's next, then this is the class for you. It includes scene work
involving text, character analysis, voice and diction, and learning to work
with a director. Limited enrollment.
The Acting Workshop Teens Ages 13-17 Time: 9:00-11:00AM
Instructor: Andrew May
This class offers the serious acting student an on-going acting
workshop. It will include monologues, scenes, vocal, character, and
physical work; and "the process" of acting. Students should submit an
acting resume, including any acting classes they have taken, with their
registration form. Limited enrollment.

Staff
Our teaching staff is comprised of Professional Actors and Directors,
because of this The Cleveland Play House reserves the right to substitute
teachers as necessary. For a current list of instructors and any further

Fees
The fee is $130.00 per class. The fee includes a nonrefundable
registration fee of $25. Do not apply an additional $25 to the printed
fee. Course and registration fees must be paid in full at registration,
unless other arrangements have been made. Payment plans are available.
Class Discount
Sign up for two classes and deduct 25% off the second class. This offer is
applicable for children and adults: a brother, a sister or a
friend. Students must register at the same time to receive the discount.
Registration
Register via mail by sending in the Registration Form with check, money
order or credit card information. Register via phone by calling
(216)795-7000, ext. 252. Please have your credit card number available. A
minimum deposit of $25.00 is due at registration. Late registration is
available subject to the approval of the instructor or workshop director.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be given after the first week of the term. No credit will
be given for missed classes.
Cancellation of Classes
We reserve the right to cancel any class for which there is insufficient
registration.
