In Mind,
October 18 through November 3, 2002 at CSU=E2=80=99s Factory Theatre located=

and Chester Avenue.
Trouble In Mind is a play within a play which examines the multiple role=
s=20
blacks
have traditionally enacted on and off the stage in order to survive. Writte=
n=20
with satirical
humor and cutting insight, its focus is a troupe of black actors who attempt=
=20
to perform
stereotyped roles in a play that has been written, produced, and directed by=
=20
whites. The
star of the show, Wiletta Meyer, undergoes a quiet revolution of conscience=20
precipitating
a series of climactic events.
Honored in 1956 with an Obie Award for the best original off-Broadway=20
play, this
production is being directed by Cleveland Art Theatre Artistic Director=20
Douglas Jewel. A
veteran theatre performer, he has appeared in numerous roles at collegiate,=20
regional,
dinner and off-Broadway theatres. Jewell will be featured in a cameo role i=
n=20
Denzel=20
Washington=E2=80=99s upcoming movie, "The Antoine Fisher Story."
