A FULL DAY OF HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IN FILMMAKING

For the third year in a row, the Ohio Independent Film Festival will
hold a Director of Photography Workshop to not only educate budding
filmmakers but to encourage them to shoot breathtaking images.

Three different, professional directors of photography (DP's including
Robert Banks and others) will have the task, within 2 hours timeframe
each, to light, stage, direct, and shoot their a horror or thriller
scene using only two rolls of 16 mm film. 

The benefit workshop participants will gain is the exposure to various
working styles and methods which different DP's work. And with a time
restrained schedule, working against the clock will also provide an
example of how to quickly and effectively shoot a scene.

The 3rd Annual Director of Photography Workshop takes place on Sunday
November 3rd from 9AM to 5PM at the WVIZ/PBS - ideastream studios
located at 4300 Brookpark Road in Cleveland, Ohio. There is a fee of $10
dollars to cover film expenses and admission to the Ohio Independent
Film Festival. Footage shot will be screened the following weekend at
Cleveland Public Theatre's Gordon Square Theatre. (Time will be
announced at the workshop).

The workshop is presented by Media Design Imaging, Inc. with
participation from Cleveland Chapter of NATAS (The National Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences) and co-sponsored by Kodak, Inc., FilmCraft
Labs, Stone Model and Talent Agency, Loresa's Make-up, The Don Diablo
Show, Independent Pictures and WVIZ/PBS - ideastream.

Also programmed for the Ohio Independent Film Festival's tenth year is a
documentary workshop, visual effects instruction from Los Angeles-based
effects supervisor Stephen Lebed (Independence Day, Charmed, TV Star
Treks, etc), Script Mill - the annual staged reading of a finalist from
the Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards, and a host of short and feature
length independent movies.

Independent Pictures supports emerging media artists and the exhibition
of their films and video projects to a wider audience through the Ohio
Independent Film Festival and other programs such as the Ohio
Independent Screenplay Awards, Script Mill, film training programs, and
workshops.
