Native American flautist Michael Searching Bear will be performing this
Thursday and Friday at 8PM at Cleveland Heights City Hall's Municipal Court
as part of the final weekend for "Pocahontas On Trial".
Searching Bear performed last Friday and Saturday evenings at Case
Western Reserve University's Gund Hall for "Pocahontas", but has rearranged
his schedule to ALSO be part of this week's performances in Cleveland Heights.
Michael Searching Bear is one of only 13 full-time Native American Flute
makers in the world. His beautiful music accompanies the entrances and exits
of Pocahontas, Chief Powhatan, and the other Powhatan nation members.
"Pocahontas On Trial" sheds new light on the old legend of Pocahontas and
John Smith, and features local actress Laura Wittenberg, Professor Emeritus
Kelly Holt from CWRU's Theater and Dance Department, and many others. (The
address for Heights City Hall is 40 Severance Circle, Cleveland Heights, at
the corner of Mayfield and Taylor Roads and circling Severance Town Center;
$10 donation and no credit cards).
