IMPORTANT NEWS

For those interested, the format of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique
Workshops will be changing!!!!!! Beginning in January, Catherine Albers and
Lionel Walsh will be offering workshops in specific areas of the Technique.
These workshops will be new so there will be no distinction between
Introductory or Continuing students. The first area to be covered will be
ATMOSPHERE, an important area of Chekhov's teaching, which has not been
addressed in any other session. We will use the text THE BLIND by
Maeterlinck. This is a short piece and gender, for the most part, is
unimportant, so there will be plenty for everyone to do. You must provide
your own copy. (Three Pre-Surrealist Plays, 1997 Oxford University Press)
This workshop will be taught Friday thru Sunday, January 24-26.

The next workshop, in the late winter/early spring, will be on Clown
Technique and how it applies to work on all characters, not just the comedic
ones! Red noses for all! ( These will be provided) More information about
dates will follow after the new year.

These are exciting and different workshops and ones that have been requested
from the various groups of people who have participated in prior sessions.
I hope that the early notice (again, a request) will enable all those
interested to plan ahead to participate. A deadline date for registration
for the ATMOSPHERE workshop will be posted on this list in early January.

Thank you for allowing us to share this work!
