Shaker's Boulevard Theatre Announces
Auditions for Italian American Reconciliation
By John Patrick Shanley
(writer of the film Moonstruck)
Directed by Penny Frese
A tender, comic play of human relations set in New York's Little Italy.
Sharply defined characters, flawed but lovable, remind us of our need for one
another. The play smiles in mixed amusement and compassion at human
limitations, while giving full credit to the sincerity of our efforts to "do
the right thing."
Strong roles for 2 men and 2 women in their 30's and one older woman.
Audition Dates: Monday or Tuesday, Dec. 9-10, 7-8:30.
Callbacks: TBD
Auditions at the Shaker Hts. Community Life Building, 3450 Lee Road, between
Van Aken & Chagrin Blvd.**
Come prepared to read from the script. Comic monologue optional.
Rehearsals January and February.
Play runs eight performances Feb. 20-Mar. 8.
Penelope Frese, Ph.D. received her M.F. A. in theatrical directing, and Ph.D.
in Comparative Arts from Ohio University. She has served on the faculties of
Kent State University, Hiram College, University of Akron, and Ohio
University. Her most recent productions include Neil Simon's Proposals at
Aurora Community Theatre, Dracula, Of Mice and Men, and Tartuffe at
Weathervane Community Playhouse, and Lunch Hour at Coach House Theatre in
Akron.
