Update on the Indie Cleveland Production Workshop
22 December, 2002

Indie Cleveland has lined up most of the teachers for the workshop. We just secured David Manocchio, who is an award winning director and has taught acting for film and directing at the Cleveland Playhouse. Mr. Manocchio's current movie is "Haywire."

Local filmmaker Robert Banks will also be teaching a filmmaking class. Mr. Banks' movies have played at the Sundance Film Festival and the Cleveland International Festival. To see Mr. Banks' work, go to http://www.opensewer.com/banks/index.htm

Emmy winning writer and digital director Alex P. Michaels is scheduled to teach the screenwriting workshop. To see Mr. Michaels' work, go to http://www.alexmichaels.com.

Award winning writer and art teacher Jay Berkowitz will be teaching the storyboard section of the pre-production field of study. To see Mr. Berkowitz's full bio, and some of his storyboards, go to http://www.prelude2cinema.com/1-p2c-Images/Bio_Staff_Jay_Berkowitz.htm

Each Field of Study will have a Main Instructor, but there will be talented guests coming in to assist students. The Indie Cleveland site at www.indiecleveland.com will have a full schedule and more info next month.

The workshops will be in in the evening and on weekends. The cost will be $180 for the six week workshop. People can take two of the fields of study or focus on field of study. The six fields of study include: Acting, Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Pre-production and Screenwriting. The workshop is scheulded to take place at Prelude2Cinema's Knight Studio on the East Side. The production workshop will probably involve location work around the city.

The workshop will be a little different than most other workshops. It will be limited to 12 students in each field of study and it will be a very participation driven workshop. That is the reason why we are limiting the number of students. Also students will get to work on productions with the instructors. The goal is to have everyone leave the workshop with knowledge and a credit.

Classes will begin around March 15 and last till the end of April 2003.
