Dear Neohiopal list ( friends & colleagues):

Cesear's Forum is pleased to announce it will be presenting Hugh Whitemore's
play, STEVIE, at Kennedy's Down Under, Playhouse Square Center, Cleveland,
Ohio. A mixture of biography, autobiography and narration, the play follows
the life and career of Britain's poetess Stevie Smith. Noted for her ironic
wit, unexpected turns of phrase, and unsentimental view of the human
condition, Stevie Smith wrote poetry that was as unconventional as her own
character. The mischievous humor, eccentricity and poems, often with an
acerbic twist on familiar nursery rhymes, are chronicled and commented on in
this charming portrait of individuality.

Playwright, Hugh Whitemore has prodigious writing credits and numerous awards
in television, film and theatre. Most recently, he received an Emmy for his
screenplay of the HBO film THE GATHERING STORM. He received a previous
(1983) Emmy for Best Miniseries (PBS) CONCEALED ENEMIES. He dramatized the
Bob Woodward/Carl Bernstein book, THE FINAL DAYS and wrote the miniseries
ELIZABETH R. Other British television credits, where he began his career,
include CIDER WITH ROSIE, DUMMY and A DANCE TO THE MUSIC OF TIME. Film
credits include THE RETURN OF THE SOLDIER, UTZ and Franco Zeffirelli's JANE
EYRE. Many of his stage plays have been adapted for television/film and have
been translated and produced internationally. They include: PACK OF LIES,
BREAKING THE CODE, THE BEST OF FRIENDS, IT'S RALPH, A LETTER OF RESIGNATION,
DISPOSING OF THE BODY and GOD ONLY KNOWS.

STEVIE was first produced in London and then New York in the mid-seventies,
featuring Glenda Jackson. Cesear's Forum offers its 2003 production in a
limited five-week engagement, featuring veteran Cleveland actors Sheila E.
Maloney (in the principle role of Stevie), Lee Mackey and John Kolibab.

Cesear's Forum is dedicated to presenting unconventional, new or lesser-known
plays to Northeast Ohio at affordable prices. The company performs at
Kennedy's Down Under (literally under the Ohio Theatre), an intimate venue
with close proximity to the stage action (no seat is more than 35 feet from
the stage) at the Playhouse Square Center.

STEVIE: January 10th through February 8th, Kennedy's Down Under, Playhouse
Square, 1501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Friday & Saturdays at 8pm. Single
tickets at $15.00. Call Tickets.com at (216) 241-6000 or (330) 405-3045 for
additional information.

Cuyahoga Falls, this group of community theatre actors from ages 14 - 65 =
do a 90-minute, squeaky clean improv show with short sets of stand-up, =
in an alcohol-free, smoke-free theatre setting.=20

Upcoming performances are Saturdays, January 25, February 8 and 29. =
Shows start at 7:30. Doors open at 7:00. Tickets are $5.

The troupe is also auditioning amateur stand-up comedians and is looking =
to expand its player roster. Please contact Bob Coppedge at =
rlcoppedge at aol.com if you are interested in auditioning. We are =
especially interested in becoming more culturally and age-diverse (we =
