FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PORTHOUSE THEATRE HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR 2003 SEASON

=09Porthouse Theatre, Akron-Cleveland area=92s premiere, professional summer
theatre, announces auditions in Cleveland and Kent for its 2003 =93Season of
Heart=94.  The season includes A CHORUS LINE, June 13 - 28, directed by Cain
Park Artistic Director, Victoria Bussert; THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST,
July 4 =96 19, directed by Warehouse Theatre Artistic Director, John Woodson;
and OKLAHOMA!, July 25 =96 August 10, directed by Porthouse Theatre Artistic
Director, Terri Kent.  All positions are paid and EMC points are available.

In Kent, auditions for all three productions will be March 7th from 6 PM to 11
PM and March 8th from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Main Kent State University Campus,
Music & Speech Center.  The Music & Speech Center is located on the corner of
Horning & Main.  In Cleveland, auditions for all three productions will be
March 9th from 12 PM to 8 PM and March 10th from 5 PM to 10 PM at The
Cleveland Play House.  The Cleveland Play House is located on Euclid Avenue 
and
East 85th Street.

Those auditioning for A CHORUS LINE or OKLAHOMA! should prepare two selections
of 16 bars, one ballad and one up-tempo song.  Please bring sheet music in the
appropriate key for the accompanist provided.  Those auditioning for THE
IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST should prepare one monologue, under four minutes
in length.  Anyone auditioning for all three productions should prepare two
selections of 16 bars and one monologue not to exceed four minutes combined.
Acappella singing will not be permitted.

Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled through Elisabeth
Madden at 330-672-3884 or email at emadden at kent.edu.  Callbacks will be March
16 & 17 in the Music & Speech Center.  Times will be announced at a later
date.

Porthouse Theatre was founded in 1971 and is the premier summer theater in the
area.  Set on the beautiful grounds of the Blossom Music Center, Porthouse
offers audiences the finest in professional summer theater.   The comfortable
500-seat, outdoor, covered pavilion theater is located next to the Cuyahoga
Valley National Park in Cuyahoga Falls.

Porthouse Theatre, the Akron-Cleveland area=92s premiere professional summer
