FINAL TWO WEEKENDS!!!!

In 1949 Helene Hanff, an author in New York City, found a small ad from a=20
London bookstore in the Saturday Review of Literature. The store, Marks and=20
Co., was located in London at 84, Charing Cross Road. Helene wrote to the=20
London address and it started a twenty-year correspondence that Helene=20
documented in the book by the same name.=20
=20
This play, based on this real-life event, shows us how friendships develop.=20
As time passes Helene (played by <A HREF=3D"www.maudholm.com">Maud Holm</A>)=
 realizes the same person, Frank=20
Doel (played by Don Wozniak) is dealing with all her letters. Helene breaks=20
through Frank=E2=80=99s traditional British reserve. After that, one by one,=
 the=20
other members of the staff of Marks and Co. are drawn into the=20
correspondence. Steve Brown of the Chronicle-Telegram encouraged his reader=
s=20
to see these "very good" performances.

Adding excitement and filling out the cast are Susan Dziama, Mara Schwenk,=20
Matt Kiedrowski, Jan Lynch and Bill Reising. Directed by Marilyn Hubbard,=20
this is a play for people who love books and people who love words. It's=20
amusing rather than hilarious, touching rather than manipulative, and in the=
=20
real sense of the word, charming.

Performance dates are January 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 & 26. All shows=20
start at 8 PM, except for Sundays, which start at 3 PM. Tickets for the show=
=20
are $10.00 each and may be reserved by calling the box office at=20
440-988-5613. Group discounts are available for groups of 15 or more.=20
Workshop Players Theatre is located on Middle Ridge Road in Amherst, halfway=
=20
between Rt. 2 and Rt. 58. See us on the web at: <A HREF=3D"www.workshopplaye=
rs.com">www.workshopplayers.com</A>.
