The East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirtland is hosting Eve
Ensler's The Vagina Monologues for the 2003 V-Day benefit. All proceeds go
to support the women & children's shelters in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula
counties.
Ann Hedger, actor, director and Theater Operations Coordinator at Fine
Arts, Willoughby, is the director. Carole Clement, playwright, is the
producer.
The production features Dagmar Celeste, a former First Lady of Ohio and a
former roman Catholic. The Pope was not amused by her having been ordained
as a Catholic priest this past summer and excommunicated her. Ms. Celeste
will autograph copies of her book, We Can Do Together: Impressions of a
Recovering Feminist First Lady.
A first for VDAY presentations: Per Ensler's suggestion, the actors will
include a man--Bob McCoy--reading a monologue written by Clement.
Seating is limited--reserve your seats early.
