Natalie M. Kapeluck is a long time independent
choreographer based in Pittsburgh, PA who has decided
to focus her artistic energies into a company of her
own. Ms. Kapelucks choreography has been seen in
Cleveland as part of the MN2 Productions "Ancestral
Voices", and "Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors."
She also serves a resident choreographer at
Pittsburghs Southwest Ballet and is in her seventh
season as a dancer with the Mary Miller Dance Company.
Ms. Kapeluck has also created choreography for the
Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble since her appointment as
director and has conducted workshops across the USA
and Canada.
The works to be presented in Cleveland originated
as three separate pieces that were set on dancers with
Pittsburgh's Southwest Ballet Company. These modern
dance works have been reworked and expanded for the
dancers of Slava as a further development of the
choreographer's vision. "Gracias a la Vida",
"Static", and "Miranda" will be performed along with
the premiere of "With Open Hands". MorrisonDance will
present two works: a work in progress by Sarah
Morrison, director of MorrisonDance, and a work
choreographed for MorrisonDance by Natalie M.
Kapeluck.
