Hudson Players Announce Auditions for Communicating Doors
=20

The Hudson Players have announced auditions for the Alan Ayckbourn =
mystery-thriller-comedy Communicating Doors to be held at The Barlow =
Community Center, on Oviatt St. in Hudson, March 9 & 10 at 7:30 p.m. All =
roles are open. Performance dates are scheduled for May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 =
& 17. Additional information is available by calling 330-655-8522. =
Anyone interested in serving on the set or backstage crew is also =
encouraged to attend or contact the group with their area of interest.

=20

Directed by Alex Nine, Communicating Doors is a comtemporary play =
(written in 1994) in which time travel plays an important role. It =
begins with Ms. Poopay Dayseer, a specialist sexual consultant who =
unexpectedly finds herself enmeshed in some very dangerous business. One =
man wants to kill her, another wants to confess to multiple murders, and =
to top it all off, the 'communicating door' between hotel rooms is =
actually a portal through time. Now she's dealing with a murderer =
lurking in the past as well as one in the future, past wives who are =
unaware they are about to be murdered, overzealous hotel security guards =
and old men who are also young, forcing her to help solve the mystery to =
save her life.

=20

All those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script. =
Perusal copies are available at the Hudson Library and Historical =
Society. Roles include 3 men, 3 women. Male actors will be required to =
play parts of various ages. The play is sponsored by The Cleveland =
Clinic Neuroscience Center.

=20

Richard Zoglin of Time wrote of the play - "The time-travel gimmick is =
fun but hardly frivolous: the play explores matters of fate and free =
will, and the ability of people to control their own destiny. A clever =
and finally quite moving work."

=20

Participation with the Hudson Players is open to all. The Hudson Players =
are members of the Ohio Community Theatre Association, the American =
Association of Community Theatre and the Hudson Chamber of Commerce. =
Call 330-655-8522 for additional audition information.
