You and a guest are invited to a screening of short films by female directors in honor of Women's History Month featuring:

A Wise Decision.  Local director, Bernadette Gillota, examines the importance of voting in this short that features local politicians and personalities including students from the Cleveland Municipal School District.  9 minutes. 

Lucky.  Who says you can't find love and romance while approaching your sexagenarian status.  Sometimes you may just get lucky.  Directed by Olufunmilayo Gittens.  27 minutes.

*Kings.  A successful attorney in the corporate world never discusses his past, but when it catches up to him, he must make some tough decisions.   Directed by Niva Dorell, who was mentored by John Singleton.  16 minutes.

*Two.  Third year Columbia University M.F.A. candidate, Nikki Byrd, explores the ménage-a-trois fantasy.  11 minutes. 

*The Gift.  Based on a true story about a blind sculptor's fear of regaining his sight when he is offered surgery to correct his blindness.  Directed by Tanya Byrd.  13 minutes.

Rendez-Vous.  A woman anxiously awaits a hot date in a restaurant.  Selected to compete in the 2002 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Competition for the Dijibril Diop Mambety Award.  Directed by French-Caribbean Mariette Monpierre.  15 minutes. 

*These films contain mature/adult themes.  No one under 17 years old admitted.

Come early and join us for dinner at The Cleveland Museum of Art's Still Life Cafe or enjoy the galleries and special exhibition, The Gilded Age.  Parking is $3 after 5:00 p.m.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is free and open to the public Tuesdays - Sundays and open until Wednesday and Friday evenings.

The goal of the Reel Deal film series is to present film as alternative to the typical movie-going experience and as an educational tool to create and sustain audience awareness for African-American and other minority films and filmmakers.

Reel Deal film series exclusively showcases independent films written, produced or directed by minority filmmakers seeking mainstream distribution to test their films and before a movie-going audience.
