W. Scot Sexton
Memorial Service

at Weathervane Playhouse
(details below)

Scot was one of two men who succumbed to the mighty Cuyahoga River in a=20
kayaking accident Sunday, March 16, 2003. He was an avid outdoorsman who=20
loved hunting, camping, canoeing, kayaking and hiking.

Weathervaners, however, will remember him best for his long-time commitment=20
to its musical productions. W. Scot Sexton first set up his drums to play fo=
r=20
The Fantasticks at Weathervane's Copley Road theater when he was in his=20
teens. He was a third-generation Weathervaner of 41 years having played=20
percussion for a multitude of musicals, not only at Weathervane, but at othe=
r=20
local theaters. Scot followed in the footsteps of his great grandfather who=
=20
was also a percussionist. His great grandfather's xylophone was used in=20
Weathervane's production of Working in 1998.

Sons Scot and Jake of Akron have inherited their dad's musical talents and=20
fondness for Weathervane. Scot first sat in the pit at the age of 15 for th=
e=20
earlier-mentioned production of Working, and since, both boys have played fo=
r=20
several more recent productions. Their dad's pride in their accomplishments=
=20
was always evident.

Scot worked for the Summit County Cooperative Extension Service, Lane and=20
Son, and EPCON. He was a Vietnam Special Forces Veteran.
