WINNERS, an exhibition of works by Ohio Arts Council Fellowship 
Recipients, opens at
Heights Arts, 2173 Lee Road on Saturday, April 12, 2003 with a reception 
from 6 to 10 p.m. The exhibition will continue through May 11.  Hours 
are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.  

This is the opening exhibition of Heights Arts, a contemporary community 
gallery at 2173 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights.   William Busta is the 
Gallery Director.  

Artists selected for this exhibition live in Cleveland Heights and the 
adjacent community of University Heights.  Visual artists include 
Catherine Butler, Laurence Channing, Rene Culler, William DePalma, JoAnn 
Giordano, Gretchen Goss, Mark Hartung, Matthew Hollern, Robert A. 
Muller, Paul O'Keefe, Rene Psiakis, Jeanne Regan, Jesse Rhinehart, 
Steven Tatar, Douglas Max Utter, and Brent Young.  WINNERS will also 
recognize fellowship recipients in other media, such as Music 
Composition and Creative Writing.  

Ohio Arts Council Fellowships have been awarded by the Ohio Arts Council 
since 1979 "to recognize the importance . . . of the individuals who are 
responsible for creating our culture and documenting our times."  Over 
the 24 years of the program, the OAC has awarded, on average, 88 
Fellowships each year.  

Heights Arts is a project of the Heights Arts Collaborative.   The 
gallery was conceived as part of the new cultural arts campus of the 
Cleveland Heights - University Heights Public Library.  Until the new 
facility is built, the gallery is open at 2173 Lee Road in Cleveland 
Heights.  

The Heights Arts Collaborative is a nonprofit community arts 
organization whose mission is to pool the arts resources of the Heights 
in order to express the creative spirit of the community.
