PORTHOUSE THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2003 CAST.
Porthouse Theatre celebrates it=92s 35th Anniversary in 2003

Kent, Ohio =96 Porthouse Theatre is happy to announce the outstanding casts of A 
CHORUS LINE, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST and Rodgers and Hammerstein's 
OKLAHOMA!

The 2003 season begins with the Broadway favorite, A CHORUS LINE.  This 
enduring musical chronicles the careers of actors and actresses who are 
hoping, with all of their hearts, to make it on Broadway.  Porthouse favorite, 
MaryAnn Black (Meg Brockie from last season=92s BRIGADOON) will choreograph, A 
CHORUS LINE.  MaryAnn was a cast member in A CHORUS LINE when it became the 
longest running show on Broadway.   Directed by Cain Park Artistic Director, 
Victoria Bussert, A CHORUS LINE runs June 13 =96 28.  Opening Night is June 14 
followed by a free champagne reception.  The cast for A CHORUS LINE includes=85.

Following your heart in matters of love is comically illustrated in the 
season=92s second production THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.  Oscar Wilde spins 
a comic tale of mistaken identity, overbearing mothers, addled brained nurses 
and of course true love.  Directed by John Woodson, Artistic Director of the 
Warehouse Theatre, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST runs July 4 =96 July 19.  
Opening night is July 5 followed by a free champagne reception.  The cast of 
The Importance of Being Earnest includes=85.

Porthouse is proud to announce that we will be partnering with the American 
Heart Association next season.  Our involvement with the American Heart 
Association includes selling the AHA hearts at the theatre throughout the 
season and dedicating opening weekend of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST to 
the American Heart Association.  $4 of every full-priced ticket purchased 
opening weekend will go directly to the AHA.  Jacqueline Loomis will be 
working with us on this project.  She is a Freshman Theatre major at Kent 
State University as well as a survivor of seven open-heart surgeries.  We our 
delighted to have her join us as our Community Outreach Assistant.

Closing the season is Rodgers & Hammersteins=92s OKLAHOMA!.  Directed by 
Artistic Director, Terri Kent, this family favorite tests the power of true 
love when Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out 
their love story.  Porthouse Theatre, Producing Director, John Crawford will 
choreograph this classic musical.  OKLAHOMA! Runs July 25 =96 August 10 with 
opening night on July 26.  The cast of OKLAHOMA! includes=85.

Subscriptions for this heartfelt season are available by calling 330-672-3884 
or 1-800-304-2363.  Subscriptions range from $24 - $45 with discounts 
available for seniors and students.  Group tickets are also currently 
available by calling the number above.  Groups consist of ten or more people 
and prices range from $10 to $20 depending on the size of the group and day of 
performance.  Individual tickets will go on sale May 21st.

Porthouse Theatre was founded in 1971 and is the premier, professional summer 
theater in the area.  Set on the beautiful grounds of the Blossom Music 
Center, Porthouse offers audiences the finest in professional summer theater.
 The comfortable 500-seat, outdoor, covered pavilion theater is located next 
to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Cuyahoga Falls.  Audience members are 
encouraged to arrive early to picnic on the grounds or in our new picnic 
pavilion, before every performance.  Picnic tables and beautiful scenery are 
provided free of charge.  We can also pack you a picnic.  Order your boxed
