-sponsored by www.WritersScriptNetwork.com

For Immediate Release: April 3, 2003

Contact: Annetta Marion or Bernadette Gillota, Co-Artistic and=20
Executive Directors, (216) 651-7315

Independent Pictures, presenter of the Ohio Independent Film Festival=20
& the Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards, is seeking screenplays for=20
its Best Voice of Color Screenplay Award. The award emphasizes=20
Independent Pictures' commitment to people of color, their
stories, and getting those stories to the big screen.

"=85Too many writers only enter the big contests, in which the
odds are not good for screenplays that don't fit the typical=20
Hollywood formula. Few, if any, of those contests have a special=20
category to recognize writers of color or scripts that concern=20
minorities," says Rich Figel, winner of the 2002 Best Voice of Color=20
Screenplay Award for his script INUGAMI.

The Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards introduce aspiring writers to=20
the professionals who can propel real writing careers. 2003 marks=20
the 7th annual screenplay competition. Since the inception of the=20
awards, winning screenplays have been produced into full-length=20
feature films, and other winners have been "optioned" for
future production. Additionally, some winning writers are now well=20
on their way to professional writing careers.

The Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards boasts a fair and seasoned=20
judging process. Personal coverage and feedback from the judges will=20
be available to every screenplay entrant. Finalists and winners are=20
submitted to various Hollywood and NYC producers, literary agents,=20
talent management companies and production companies, which can=20
become a major step to a writing career. In addition, winners=20
receive cash, magazines, software, professional screenplay reading,=20
and representation/promotion by WritersScriptNetwork.com.=20

Deadlines for the 2003 Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards are: JUNE=20
1. Late entries will be accepted no later than JULY 1. Please call=20
(216) 651-7315, email OhioIndieFilmFest at juno.com, or visit=20
www.ohiofilms.com for screenplay entry information.
