Stanislavsky – Grotowski: Exploring the path

Work on One’s Self and Research on Physical Actions.

Jairo Cuesta, James Slowiak, and the members of New World Performance
Laboratory will lead participants in the basic elements of theatre craft and
creative training techniques— (1) physical exercises, voice work, attention
and perception, precision and flow, seeing, listening, meeting and memory;
(2) collective or individual exercises in coordination, rhythm, untaming,
space awareness, singing and dancing; (3) “The Rendering” (improvisation)—a
structured flow of detailed actions and exercises organized in a creative
montage that serves to reclaim the performer’s vital forces and capacity for
contact. The intention is to give the participant a foundation in the
ethics, principles, and basic techniques of performance work.

You are invited to meet the NWPL company and work six hours a day for three
days in Akron, Ohio.

Fees: $150. For more information visit our website www.nwplab.org or call
