Workshop Players Theater-in-the-Round presents Neil Simon's "Jake's Women."

Jake is a writer, a very hard working writer. That means he has a very active
imagination which sometimes, when he is under stress, gets away from him.
When that happens, the people he thinks about come to visit. Except that
sometimes they aren't really there, but are jus figments of his imagination.

"Jake's Women" follows Jake (Dennis Runkle) for about six months as he
struggles to deal with a failing marriage, writer's block, a new girlfriend,
and ghosts from his past. Maggie, his wife (Jayne Kacik) wants a trial
separation. Julie, his first wife (Lisa Marie Eckenrode), who was killed in
an accident, wants to meet her adult daughter Molly (Susan Dziama; younger
Molly played by Anna Marr). Sheila, his new girlfriend (Delores Boda) doesn't
want to go to China. Karen, his sister (Carol Hoff) complains about his
fashion sense and Edith, his analyst (Kathy Whitmore) talks baby talk to him.
Simon balances all the characters, real and imagined, in a play which is at
times toughing, at times funny, and always witty and entertaining.

Directed by Wade Hubbard, the performances are May 15, 16, 17, 23, 24, 31 and
31 at 8 p.m., May 25 and June 1 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and may be
reserved by calling the box office at 440-988-5613. Group discounts are
available for groups of 15 or more.

Workshop Players Theater is located on Middle Ridge Road in Amherst, halfway
between Rt. 2 and Rt. 58.
