Ryann Anderson, Colette, The McKnights Due at May 14th
Folknet Acoustic Showcase

Jazz and classical guitarist Ryann Anderson,
performing songwriter Colette, and The McKnights, an
Irish duo, will perform at the May 14th Folknet
Acoustic Showcase at the Powerhouse Pub in the Flats
from 7 to 10 p.m.  Jeff Varga is the emcee.

There is no cover for these showcases, which are held
on the second Wednesday of the month, and parking is
both inexpensive and convenient.  What a great way to
get out with your old friends, meet new friends, have
a real party time, and hear a series of the best this
area has to offer in the way of acoustic music.

As Powerhouse Pub Manager Mike Mercer has emphasized,
the future and success of these showcase will depend
on "people, people, and more people!"   

The first showcase on March 12 drew a nice crowd of
folk music lovers, but the second, on April 9, was
sparsely attended because of cold weather, the end of
the war on tv, and proximity to tax day.  Folknet is
hoping that fans will come out for the May 14 and
future showcases to insure their continuation and
success.  

Now that it is spring, what better way to get rid of
cabin fever than by heading down to the Flats for an
early evening of social and musical fun!

The Powerhouse Pub presents "Flanagan's Wake", every
Friday and Saturday, and is located in the Powerhouse
in the Flats at 2000 Sycamore Street (216) 861-4982.
