"Last night I ventured out to the Madstone centrum to see a truly independent movie named "Bunny" about people who stand on street corners dressed as bunnies to offer comfort to others. The Director was also there to answer questions about how she came up with such a unique concept. She will be there again tonight at 7pm. I hope everyone comes out to support this great movie."

Mia Trachinger, enjoying success as a result of her first feature film Bunny, will be in Cleveland tonight and Friday, May 2, for a Q & A discussion after the 7:00 pm screening. The Hollywood Reporter singled out Ms. Trachinger as one of five "New Talents To Watch."

Adults parading around in brightly colored animal outfits is such a bizarre American icon," says filmmaker Mia Trachinger. A truly original feature debut, Bunny is a story of two lovers who flee an unnamed wartorn country to Los Angeles. Desperate to find work, they accept jobs with an experimental public works program. Dressed as pink bunnies, they squat speechless on street corners. Offering solace to the city’s downtrodden, they are humped by dogs, hugged by humans, and clung to by suicidal businessmen. Ridden with both humiliation and power, the job begins to tear the couple apart. Bunny is an offbeat social critique and a surreal look at America through the eyes of foreigners. With heartbreakingly real performances, Bunny is an irreverent and intelligent film about isolation and hope.
