ART, a powerful play about life, art and friendship.  This witty play
written by Yasmina Reza will be directed by Carol Dunne and stars Brian

Additional Information:
This international hit comedy begins as a meaningful discussion about
art and grows to embrace an often very funny discussion about the role,
value and obligation of friendship.   Serge has bought a very expensive
minimalist contemporary painting.  Marc is his classicist friend who
views the painting with disdain and looks at the purchase almost as an
insult to their friendship.  Yvan forms the third part of this triangle
as he tries to play peacemaker between the other two.  But eventually, a
choice must be made.           =20
 While the premise of the play is simple, the questions it addresses
about friendship and art are more complex.  "Art is one of the best new
comedies written in recent years," according to Carol Dunne, the
director for this Beck Center production.  "This delightful, yet smart
and, at times, hysterically funny play examines the nature of friendship
while considering loftier subjects such as art, literature and
