15th Anniversary Concert

Is Pride-Filled Reason

for North Coast Men’s Chorus

to be ‘Bustin’ Out All Over’

CLEVELAND – A return. A reunion. A rejoicing.

You can bet the North Coast Men’s Chorus will be “Bustin’ Out All Over” during its Gay Pride Month performances at 8 p.m. June 21 and 3 p.m. June 22. Official events of Cleveland Pride weekend, the shows at Cleveland State University’s Waetjen Auditorium will be splashed with pizazz aplenty as the chorus commemorates its 15th anniversary in grand style. 

Not only will NCMC’s imaginative small ensemble, The Coastliners, return after a two-concert hiatus, but the chorus’ two former music directors will also be on hand to help fifth-year Music Director Rich Cole lead yet another unpredictable NCMC production. Bob Bellisario, who led NCMC from 1988 to 1993, and Timothy Robson (1993-97) will reunite with the chorus in guest-directing capacities.

The pride-packed program will feature recognizable favorites such as On a Clear Day, When I Fall in Love and You’ll Be in My Heart, as well as anthems of inspiration and determination (Celebrate, Rise Again, In This Very Room). Everything from the never-ending cycle of love (Marry Us) and loss (Old Friend) to the let-your-hair down, high-energy strains of ’70s disco and pose-striking flair of Madonna will be included.

“We’re very excited about celebrating this anniversary,” said NCMC Executive Board President Jim McPeak. “We’ve had several years of phenomenal growth, and are poised for some dramatic changes in the near future. Performing with Bob, Tim and Rich reminds us of where we’ve been, acknowledges where we are now, and anticipates our quest for future destinations.”
