Composer and lyricist, Jason Robert Brown, is one of the brightest new =
lights shining on Broadway. He won his first Tony award for best musical =
for Parade in 1999. In 2002, he won a Drama Desk Award for Music and =
Lyrics for The Last 5 Years.

Mr. Brown traces his musical influences to the storytelling of Billy =
Joel, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, and the Broadway masters Bernstein, =
Sondheim, Gershwin and Harnick.
Songs for a New World began as a collection of cabaret and theater =
songs. As the composer began to shape this revue he needed an opening =
number. It was then that the title, Songs for a New World, was born: =
"It's about one moment.the moment you think you know where you stand, =
the things that you're sure of slip from your hand, and suddenly you're =
a stranger in some completely different land." =20

=20

The cast of five singers and a dancer embark on a musical journey of =
love, loss and discovery. Each time the actors enter the stage they =
bring another unique character to life. They sing about yearning and =
dashed dreams, fear of the unknown and the power of faith. In the words =
of Jason Robert Brown. "Listen to the song that I sing.it makes the =
piece more than a collection of songs..it becomes a prayer."

Tickets are $10 per person
