The City of Akron is seeking candidates for Art Assistant positions for t=
he Lock 3 Summer Arts Experience.  Openings are for a Theatre Assistant a=
nd two Visual Art Assistants.  =20

Theatre candidates should have a broadly based understanding and experien=
ce in many aspects of the theatre.  Visual artists should have experience=
 with Textiles and/ or Mural art and painting.  =20

The Lock 3 Summer Arts Experience is a City of Akron Recreation Bureau pr=
ogram which selects students aged 14-17 to work closely with professional=
 artists to complete a collaborative piece of work for the public.  Assis=
tants assist and provide supplemental educational support for the Lead Ar=
tist who provides artistic direction and concept for the collaborative wo=
rk.  The Lock 3 Summer Arts Experience is loosely based on the Gallery 37=
 project in Chicago.

Qualified candidates should have at least two years of experience in the =
specified field, and should have experience working in a supervisory role=
 with youth.

Program dates are June 30- July 24, Monday through Thursday, 9-2:30 p.m. =
 A mandatory orientation will be held June 25, 6-7:30 p.m.  Contracted sa=
lary is $1600.  =20
