Workshop: "OWNING SHAKESPEARE"
Presented by: Andrew May, Associate Artistic Director
Great Lakes Theater Festival
Dates: Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29=20
Times: 10am-4 pm (tentative, to be confirmed, based on enrollmen=

Where: Second City Classroom, 850 Hanna Building
Fee: $50; Register by 6/25(limited to 25 participants, first=20
paid/first served)
$40 for those who attended or participated in the=20
CTC benefit
For this two-day intensive workshop, prepare two Shakespeare monologues,=20
preferably one comic, one dramatic. The focus of the workshop is to OWN the=
=20
monologues =E2=80=93 the aim of any actor personifying any role. Learn to B=
ECOME one of=20
Shakespeare's characters by: "wrapping" your mouth around the words, "wrappi=
ng=20
up" the ideas present in run-on passages, "tingling" or getting in touch wit=
h=20
the emotional essence of the language, and physically "pointing" to clarify=20
