Chocolate Factory

(July 15, 2003, Akron, Ohio...For Immediate Release) Weathervane Playhouse
Youth Theatre will present an adaptation of Roald Dahl's enchanting Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory - July 26 through August 10, 2003.

Five lucky children receive golden tickets for a tour of the mysterious Wonka
Chocolate Factory. Set in England, you'll see the famous Oompa-Loompas,
Veruca Salt and a whole cast of wacky characters. Follow their magical journey as
the children witness a world of wonder and joy, and learn a lesson or two along
the way.
More than ten different Northeast Ohio communities are represented by the
actors in this play. We have performers and technicians from Akron, Fairlawn,
Stow, Tallmadge, Uniontown, Medina, Hudson, Bath, Northfield Center and Barberton
participating in this summer's production for the whole family.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is directed by Maryjo Mace Woodburn.
Maryjo is thrilled to make her directing debut at Weathervane. She received her BA
in theatre after finishing an internship at The Cleveland Play House with The
Ohio Company. She enjoys teaching drama at Weathervane and other area theatres
as she has for the past eight years. She made her directing debut with Stow
Players in their production of Hansel and Gretel in 1997, and has since
directed for Aurora Community Theatre and Hudson: A Children's Theatre, including
their Spring 2003 production of Commedia Delight.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will have 14 performances from July 26 -
