Auditions for Staged Reading of Alexandra of Judea, Winner of the Dorothy
Silver 2003 Playwriting Competition

The staged reading will be directed by Brian Zoldessy, and will take place
on September 13th at 8:30pm in the Eugene S and Blanche R Halle Theatre

Civil war and foreign invasions... Courtesans, cannibalism, and mass
crucifixions... And an unfortunate incident with a citrus fruit...Alexandra
of Judea is an epic true story of the Hasmonean Dynasty - the house of
Maccabee. A woman of faith and courage, Alexandra survives political
intrigues and two murderous husbands to rule as the last queen of the
independent kingdom of Judea, with the help of her ally - Cleopatra III of
Egypt. The conflicts of their time echo down to the present-day crisis in
the Middle East in this fast-moving, action-packed tale of an important -
and little known - period of history. 

12 Actors Needed- these are unpaid positions.

8 men- ages range from mid-late teens through 60's
2 women-30-60's
2 women-any age

Auditions are going to be held Monday August 11th and Wednesday August 13th
from  6pm- 9pm 

Jewish Community Center- 3505 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118 in
the Committee Room

Actors will read directly from the script.
