At Last I Get Top Billing
Wallace Ford (1897-1966) was a British actor who went to Hollywood in the
early 1930s. After a number of 'semi-leads,' Ford was condemned to a succession
of supporting roles in Hollywood films and decided that his gravestone epitaph
should read, 'At last - I get top billing.' This inscription was duly put on
his grave.
