"CHICAGO"
Huntington Playhouse opens a four week run of the musical "Chicago" beginning
Thursday, August 21st and continuing through September 15th. Performances
are on Friday and Saturday evenings with one Sunday matinee on September 14th at
2:00 PM. Tickets are $15.00. Reservations are strongly suggested and may be
made by calling 440-871-8333.
Based on 1926 play by a Chicago Tribune reporter, here is the story of Roxie
Hart, a chorus girl who murders her boyfriend, then manages not only to avoid
prison with the help of razzle-dazzle lawyer Billie Flynn, but uses the trial
to propel herself to showbiz stardom along with another murderous chorus girl,
Velma Kelly. A dark parable of American justice, this is a sexy musical
vaudeville that roars with the hot jazz of Chicago in the 1920s.
Directed and choreographed by Monica Olejko
Musical direction by Josh Senick
